A member of the Palace project forums, Benji, asked my opinion on Brock Lesnar getting set to debut for the UFC. My thoughts on this happening are mixed. I am still kind of miffed as to how Lesnar left WWE back at Wrestlemania 20, with that cluster fuck of a match between himself, Goldberg, and Stone Cold as the referee. I believe Lesnar has begun a slow down turn in to the downard spiral of a Mike Tyson type, but maybe not to the point of destruction that Tyson has achieved. However, all can be washed clean from my mind if he makes a good showing in his new venture.
Is he built to handle the rigors of UFC? Sure. Is he talented enough physically to handle the fighters of UFC? I would say yes. Does he have the mental aptitude available to make the necessary committment to become an MMA star the likes of a Chuck Liddell or a Tito Ortiz or a Randy Couture? I think not.
While I am not a full blown UFC follower, for reasons I can't really explain, I can say that I respect what they do because it's so fast, it's so sudden, and it's so decisive. There's zero room for error here, Brock. I hope you bring your A + game to the table, because in the octagon, you're not going to have a guy in a suit saying that Brock Lesnar doesn't job to anyone. You're going to have Frank Mir in your corner, and he's liable to job, jog, jab, and jolt your head clean off your shoulders.
But remember, this is just one man's opinion......
You got a question for me, drop it off, and I'll post my answer here.
