Hall of Fame Ceremony Thoughts

I watched the televised portion of the Hall of Fame ceremony. Few thoughts to share.

Rock looked good. He looked like he was ready to go another match. Couple of quick thoughts though on Rock's appearance. Um, hey, Rock, ever hear of a tie and a razor?

I thought Rock's monologue was terrific. Damn, did I think Jericho was going to get legitimately angry, though, with the 12 year old boy haircut line. Classic Rock stuff, and damn, he still gets a pop and a half, doesn't he?

Perhaps we as the Internet wrestling community hold more weight than we realize. How else would Rock be able to get the ammunition up for that insane comment railing Cena's "Marine" Movie? It was classic, and so was Cena's reaction. Insane.

Is it possible that the fans of WWE can hold their hatred for Cena for one night?

Obviously not.

Question. I may be spitballing here. Don't you think Ric Flair that if you're going to single out any one in your wrestling career who stood by you through thick and thick, that the first person in your mind should be Arn Anderson and not Triple H? Maybe I'm spitballing, and maybe there's something there that I don't know about, but Arn Anderson was by your side for a hell of a lot longer portion of your career than Triple H was, and he was involved during the prime of your career. Yeah, maybe Triple H brought you a second wind when you needed it while in WWE, but give Arn some props as well.

However, it was a nice touch that Ric did take the time to mention his previous two wives, two women who I am sure have to have gone through hell being married to the Nature Boy in his more provocative days.

Overall, it was an entertaining hour and change. It makes me want to check out the past hall of fame ceremonies I have on DVD with the previous Wrestlemania DVDs I have. I think I'd actually try and check out the whole thing when it comes out on DVD this May.

One thing is definitely for certain. For the thirty or so promotional pictures and autographs I have on my wall to my left, one of the autographs that will mean the most to me is resting on my replica World Championship belt, and that is from the now Hall of Famer, the former 16x World Heavyweight Champion, the Nature Boy Ric Flair.
