Response to a letter published here...

Rocky Dominguez's response to WWE's letter to former stars offering to pay for rehab has been replied to. My new friend Rob from the UK has some poignant thoughts...

While I agree with some of Rocky D's thoughts and feelings on the letter sent to the former stars, and understand his frustration that he feels, I can't help but be amazed that he thinks that it is Vince's responsibility to get in touch with former stars on an ad-hoc basis, in order to check up on them.

I mean, think about it. I'm 23 years old, and have had 4 jobs over the last 8 years. I have been with my current company for 3 years now. Not once since I left my previous companies, has a manager been in touch with me, to enquire how my health is - and why should they? Cut throat though it may seem - once they're off you're pay roll, they're not your problem any longer. Now, I am in no way condoning the fact that far too much pressure is being put on performers to have "ripped" bodies, but ultimately, it is their choice. There are performers who have reached the top without being on steroids, such as Lance Storm. The world being what it is, all the while you are employed by someone, to a certain degree, you are your employers responsibility, particularly if you are doing a physical job such as wrestling. However, once these wrestlers leave McMahon's employ, I fail to see why he should be worried about them - and as such, commend him for going well above and beyond the call of duty in offering the free support and help to all former stars.

For people to criticise him for this, is just plain wrong.

Keep those emails coming, gang.
