Well I have to say you have a point when you measure
in the predictability factor. I think that Cyber
Sunday could be made better if you have a 2 prong
selection process. Divide the time in half between
pay per views and allow the wrestlers to appeal for
matches they want and once the matches are picked then
allow the fans to vote on stipulations for the
matches/special guest referees.
Well just look at the main event and you can see the
predictability. Randy Orton Vs
Mr. Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy has proved he can work with
Randy and function as a tag team. Not necessarily has
proved he can take the champ.
Jeff Hardy. Jeff's proved he can have a good match
with Mr. Kennedy.
Shawn Michaels. They purposely allowed Shawn to get
the better of Randy Orton 3 times in the 3 weeks
leading up to Cyber Sundy. The WWE skewed the
selection process so that Shawn will be the most
likely candidate. So in a way, they know up front
that this is the most likely match for the main event.
In a way, I would have liked to see a Mr. Kennedy vs
Jeff Hardy match on Cyber Sunday. I feel like that
match has the potential to be a show stealer. All of
the cyber sunday shinanigans serves to build up this
match for the next pay per view.
My winner: Shawn Michaels. I think Shawn came back
earlier than he wanted to because Cena was out due to
injury. I'm sure a desperate WWE had to make it
attractive to him to want to come back early. I have
no doubt that Shawn, being the wiley veteran wrestler
that he is, made sure he got something out of the
deal.
CM Punk vs ?
Big Daddy V. I think this was just a build up for a
match with Kane on the next pay per view.
The Miz. I think the storylines are trying to build
up for a Miz vs Balls at the next ppv. The only thing
left to figure out is how much kelly kelly is going to
play a part in the outcome.
John Morrison. I think John is the most likely
candidate. I'm sure the WWE is banking that the fans
are going to pick Morrison
My Winner is CM Punk. I think the WWE wants to
distance itself from the Human Growth Hormone Scandel
and prove you don't have to be extremely buff to be
successful.
Matt Hardy and MVP. I think this is a transition
match to setup up a rematch at the next ppv. I think
Matt will win this one to setup the US title matchup
at the next ppv.
Winner: Matt Hardy
Batista vs Undertaker w/special guest referee Stone
Cold Steve Austin. I think this one will get
interesting. I don't think Stone Cold has any scores
to settle with Batista. I think if Stone Cold has any
issues with anyone in the match it will be the
undertaker. I don't think JBL will be refereeing this
matchup. I don't think Mick will be doing it either.
I think their plan is to have Stone Cold come in and
generate heat with Santino Marella to promote the DVD
sales for the WWE. Like you said, it's all
predictable.
Triple H Vs Umaga. I think Triple H has taken a lot
of critizism over his time as Champ but the last ppv
proved he can deliver good sound matches. Three ppv
matches in one night proves he can deliver. I think
your right as to the stipulation of this match. It
will be a streetfight.
Winner: Triple H. I think this will somehow set up a
title match with Shawn Michaels for the next ppv.
This is traditionally the way WWE has always broken up
tag teams by having one on one matches plus it will
end the D Generation X threat to Vince. I think Shawn
will win the match with Triple H but drop the title to
Rick Flair because I believe they'll give Flair one
more chance to hold the championship before he
retires. I also believe when Flair loses the belt it
will be a retirement match so he can gracefully bow
out of active wrestling.
Finlay Vs. Mysterio. I think that the stip will be
Shalaleigh on a pole match. I don't think Finlay is
intended to win this match. Finlay isn't comfortable
on the top rope because he's not a high flyer. I
think that this match is probably to give Mysterio a
push.
Winner: Mysterio.
I probably don't have much of a career in predicting
wrestling matches but this is how I see the matches at
cyber sunday. The Finlay vs Mysterio match could have
been made better. I'd say it would have been a better
angle if Mysterio had heat with Finlay over his
treatment of the Little Bastard. At least the matchup
would have made a little more sense. Having JBL
thrown into the mix doesn't really add up in a logical
way. Creative didn't do this match any justice.
Mr. McMahon's illegitimate son angle could be better.
They could use him to create all kinds of havoc within
the WWE but it seems to me their not making the angle
work. I'm not sure if their going to just drop the
whole angle or not. I think their tetoring on whether
or not they can make it work.
Your thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?
