The word of the day is BOID. Not bird, BOID.
Did everyone have a good thanksgiving? I hope so.
I did, till I found out someone at my job shot their mouth off, and made my job a lot more difficult.
I'm home now, but believe me, I got a sack of worry in my gut, and it's gonna make sleeping tonight a lot of fun. Not.
Anyway, Chapter 217 is up and running. I had to comment on the main event of Impact, and then to try and soften things up after that destruction, I responded to a email question that was a good idea for a blog debate. The link is up at the past column section here. Hope you check it out.

I agree...the way that they are making A.J.'s character more and more minuscule to the future of TNA makes me want to watch Impact less and less. It really is becoming the new WCW, older, more expensive and more demand veterans like Nash, Hall (supposedly), Steiner, Kip & BG James, Dustin "Black Reign" Runnels and even Booker T and the formerly amazing Kurt Angle are making it next to impossible to promote the " best wrestlers in the business with top athletic skills" that Angle himself said TNA is looking for.
Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels, L.A.X., Kazarian, Chris Harris, James Storm, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley and even semi-vets like Raven, Rhino and Christian Cage could offer far more compelling matches.
Can you imagine a eventual face turn for Styles against Cage or Angle? Those matches could be huge! Or even a 3-Way Match between those guys with the TNA World Championship on the line, or even God willing, a 3 Way Ultimate X Match for the title? Imagine a Spinal Tap, a Cage Frog Splash or even one of Angle's moonsaults or 450 knee drops? I would love to see Cage steal the title back from Angle then have Styles grow more and more frustrated leading perhaps to a 3-Way Ironman Match.
The WCW/WWE veterans need to follow two certain men's example: Sting and Jeff Jarrett. These two men are showing off the new crop of wrestlers of tomorrow. They're taking jobs to the next Angle's and the next Undertaker's. If Angle and the rest of these vets want to truly lead TNA into tomorrow they need to start thinking more long-term and how the company will survive when their stars' body eventually does breakdown and in my opinion, they are pushing their biggest star right on his way to WWE.
Survivor Series Memories
My favorite recent Survivor Series has to be Survivor Series 2001: WWE vs. The Alliance.
The first match pitted Christian vs. Al Snow. It wasn't an amazing match, but it was great to see Snow in a pay per view match again and it worked wonders for Christian's weasel heat to beat a fan favorite like the Snowman.
Next was a grudge match with William Regal vs. Tajiri. Tajiri was amazing to see in the ring and the contrasting styles of Regal & Tajiri was awesome. I miss Tajiri and Regal in an important in-ring role.
Next was an Intercontinental- United States Title Unification Match with Edge vs. Test. Great match that continue to solidify Edge as a solo star and Test as an obnoxious heel.
The Steel Cage Tag Title Unification Match was an amazing match that continued the Hardy Boyz vs. the Dudley Boyz. What a great match, it had so much build up and we saw the beginning of the rift between Matt and Jeff begin. Jeff's fall off the cage thru the table was painful to watch too.
The Immunity Battle Royal was up next that saw Test underhandedly get into the match and win it to save his career (ironic...). Good to see Bradshaw, Lance Storm, Perry Saturn, Raven and Tazz get some recognition in this one.
The Women's Championship Six Pack Challenge was fun. It saw the debut of Jazz, the female Mike Tyson and the re-debut and beginning of Trish Stratus the in-ring woman version of Stone Cold. Damn I miss Trish and Lita! They made every woman look good in the ring.
And finally...Team WWF vs. Team Alliance. Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle, Booker T and Shane O'Mac vs. The Rock, Chris Jericho, The Undertaker, Kane & Big Show. Talk about the biggest names in three different wrestling promotions collective histories. Seeing The Rock vs. Stone Cold again was awesome, Y2J's heel turn was coming closer and closer and Kurt Angle's screw job were all amazing bits throughout the match. It was the culmination of the whole alliance angle.
Anna is right... there was nothing wrong with Impact... only with the idiots that think guys who couldn't draw fleas at a flea circus
