I can see since your exposure to ECW was the Bloodsport DVD why you think that ECW was about Hardcore wrestling. It wasn't about that. It was about showing a product that was different from WCW and WWF at the time. With wrestlers that were either misused or younger wrestlers who were looking for a break and in that aspect ECW now is no different then ECW of old.

Chavo is a great choice to be the new ECW World Champion. The only issues I have with it is the one you mentioned the whole EDGE thing but also the match should have taken place at the Royal Rumble on Sunday. Since they left the countout option open Chavo could have won tonight by countout and won in a Extreme Rules match at the Royal Rumble on Sunday.

John Morrison reminds me of ECW Original Chris Jericho so yes he would have fit in the Original ECW and so would have Matt Striker who did wrestle for CZW and ROH.

I would like to see some of those guys you mention brought up too but with only a hour of TV you don't want to make the mistake that TNA makes by having too many wrestlers for your timeslot.

I agree with you that with only one hour they can't bring in too many titles but they could add one but I would not add another singles title, I would actually add a tag team title.

I would book a one night tournament to crown a new ECW World Tag Team Champion. I would do it by unifying the 2 tag team titles that the WWE currently has with the 2 they never unified with the invasion angle after Vince bought WCW and ECW. So the matches would be as follows:

John Morrison & The Miz vs Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman to Unify the WWE Tag Team Championship and the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship

Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly vs Danny Doring & Roadkill to Unify the World Tag Team Championship and the ECW Tag Team Championship

The 2 winning teams wrestle in the Main Event for the Final Unification of the night. At that point I would also send the tag teams from RAW and SMACKDOWN to ECW. That would get rid of a title from WWE and would add one to ECW and give the tag team division meaning again or atleast focus.

I like the idea of bringing up the Second City Saints but not with CM Punk unless he was the 6-man tag team partner in the group. Colt should be brought up to tag with Ace Steel.

The other tag team I would bring up in the Bulldogs of RAW's DH Smith & The Stampede Kid.
