Shelley and Sabin return to ROH....

I read this on ROH Wrestling.com, and felt the need to respond. I am printing this here to further elaborate on my views. Check the main page of ROHWrestling.com to see what I mean.

What I read was that booker Gabe Sapolsky got pissed at the general consensus on the board, and took the time to respond. I found that to be worthy of a response of my own. First, the link to the thread I am referring to.

Click here to see what I'm talking about.

Here's what I replied, it's on page 7 of the thread at the ROH boards. I am really anxious to see what's replied to this.

For my money, Shelley and Sabin coming to ROH for two shows, and if its only two shows, is a benefit for both companies. TNA needs the exposure all over the world, and if they can get it from ROH, so be it. ROH needs the marquis names, as its roster is lacking, a little, of some major league marquis names, and having a McMG/Briscoes main event match will be off the page, no question about it. I applaud the ROH high command for being able to get this done. It may be the beginning of a a slow chink in the armor of TNA that may result in some more positive things for ROH, and just possibly, TNA in the future.

With that being said, I got some beefs too.

First, these so called smarks that are so upset because Shelley and Sabin aren't coming to New York, or Kota Ibushi isn't coming to New York this time around, and that the 6th anniversary show is a waste of time.

Last I checked, ladies and gentlemen, there is a company that has to book a ton of talent with dealings all over the world, as prevalent with Hero, Claudio & the Brisoces in Japan with NOAH as we speak, as well as other competing and sister companies in and out of the GPWA. It's not as simple as "its ROH or its nothing." I'd like to think that just as much as the next guy, but it's selfish, and it's wrong to do so.

For those spoiled brats who bitch about the New York cards, I give these examples. We got Misawa LIVE defending the GHC title. I think that's a big damn deal. We got a PPV, with some damn good talent involved in it. We got Danielson stomping Morishima like he was a busted grape back at Glory By Honor, and at Rising Above. We had Danielson vs. Homicide at Final Battle 2006, quite possibly, still, my most favorite moment ever in attendance at a Ring of Honor event.

To say that New York gets punished is nothing more than immature selfish crap. It's a company that has to do what it has to do to keep its circuit of cities happy and wanting to host its product each time they come out.

But, I have one other beef. And that's to the ROH head guru booker himself. He of all people should know that the general apathy that can be brought out of this board can be bordering on maddening. It's at times informative, at times infantile, and at times revolting. But, to reply as he did is, in this person's opinion, significantly juvenile and petty.

The fans are going to make their opinions known whether you say boo or not, Mr. Sapolsky. It would be better to continue working on breaking the armor that surrounds the talent in Orlando, as that talent, if they're able to be freed up, even for a show here and there, would benefit everybody, short and long term. Trying to fight off the emotional stimuli that is generated here is fruitless, pointless, and most importantly, and wort yet, a losing battle.

Just one man's two cents
