Did I miss something? - Another email...

Apparently, I missed something with this report that Flair was offered the final match.. Here's my new friend Tom's email reply to the column...

I have read a lot of thoughts, columns and opinions about Ric Flair in the last couple of days but i think that yours is the most touching. It is really nice to hear how down to earth Ric was when you met him and how he was so gracious and made it such a special day for you and your family. I think one of the reasons we love Flair so much is you can see just how much he truly loves wrestling and wrestling fans. After 35 odd years that really says something.

I agree that it would have been nice for Flair to finish as the 17 time champion but if rumors on the internet are to be believed they offered Flair the final match at mania and he said no. I think there may have been better ways to go but i think you could see it on his face at Mania and on Raw last night, Ric got the sendoff he wanted and so richly deserved. For me that is the most important thing.

These last few nights of Flairs career have reminded us why we all love wrestling so much. There is always going to be BS but these are the moments we watch wrestling for. There will never be another like Nature Boy. Thank you Ric
