Here's a couple of tidbits from the past few days, one of them is non-wrestling, but hey, sometimes you gotta branch out.
Nigel McGuiness won the ROH World Heavyweight Championship from NOAH's Takeshi Morishima last night at the PPV tapings in Edison, New Jersey. When I first saw Nigel, I thought he was a British version of John Heidenreich. Although the trilogy of matches between Nigel and Morishima have been physical to the limit, Nigel's ability, IMHO, has been a little limited from where I sit. I'm interested to see what happens when ROH comes to Manhattan on November 3rd.
Speaking of November 3rd, and the main reason why I am going, Mitsuharu Misawa, the GHC Heavyweight Champion, is scheduled to face KENTA in one on one competition. I am kind of puzzled by this. Not because of the match, as I am not surprised that Misawa ordered that he fight NOAH competitors on US soil, but because Misawa and KENTA are scheduled to team up the day before against I believe Morishima and I think Nigel, which is going to be incredibly interesting. I'll have to confirm this by checking a few things out. I'm still very interested to see what happens, and I am looking forward to seeing this first hand come next month.
*EDIT* - After double checking, the main event on 11/2 in Philly for ROH is Misawa & KENTA vs. Morishima and Naomichi Marufuji. Not McGuinness. My fault.
The Yankees. Man, I tell you. New York has the most fickle fans on the absolute planet. I don't know what to say except I think the team is doomed tonight, and I cannot wait to hear the absolute death knell march tomorrow on sports talk radio about how the Yankees are so beyonsd reproach and done.
Joe Torre is en route to the Hall of Fame. Win or lose tonight, he should walk away before Steinbrenner tries to fire him. Nobody needs to go through this circus any more than Joe has already gone through.
Giants vs. Jets. Heh. If the Giants lose this game, I'm going to freak.
I'm going to look through the emails over the next couple of days in response to chapter 206 about Cena's injury. I'm going to try and get some more published in the next few days.
CM Punk better realize how tenuous his position in WWE is before spouting off to someone like Tony Atlas.
I'm feeling better, and I'm more pissed off. this could be a hell of a day.
