My own views on the Chris Jericho return...

When the beginning of the Save_Us videos came up, I thought it was a glitch, some dumb idea, something not wrestling related. Then .com started putting the links up, and I realized it was something. It was ENJOYABLE to check out a couple of weeks trying to listen to the smarks try and break the code.

It got tedious after a month from where I sat, but hey, I'm impatient by nature, so be it.

Last week, with the "BREAK_THE_WALLS" code, I was pissed. I knew, the world knew, and it was anti-climatic at best.

I also knew I couldn't see it live, and it pissed me off.

Personally, I think Jericho looks good. I like the clean shaven, short hair look. The vest is definitely out there, but I can get used to it.

It appears he hasn't lost his wit by any stretch, as even the edited version wwe.com put up on the site showed intricately.

I'm not sure, as many people are, of why he's going to go after Orton right off the bat, but hey, deals are deals. Orton didn't really have a challenger waiting after Michaels, and this one will draw ratings, that's for sure.

I guess the thing I have to say is, the mixed reaction I read from all sorts of writers and fans all over the net just kind of made this thing a downer for me. It almost made me realize why people have been so against some of the times where I have come out and ripped people a new one. I thought the reaction to Jericho's return was mixed, and that bothered me, because jesus, you can't expect the man to be at his prime on the mike after two plus years of being out.

Whether you like it or not, as long as Jericho has the motivation, he'll have a spot of major proportions now, at least till Cena gets back, because there are very little main event calibre ready stars on Raw. There were when Jericho left back in the day, but now, their isn't.

It'll be very interesting to see how Jericho fits in to the storylines as Raw progresses. It's a trying time for the flagship of WWE, and a lot is probably expected of Y2J, and I hope he's able to deliver. From what I see, there's a shot he can, but hopefully, somewhere, someway, he can deliver for most everybody out there.

But I ain't holding my breath.

I think this kinda shows that WWE choose one night ratings instead of suspense. Look at the return of "Mr. McMahon"; they wanted to boost ratings so announced he was coming back from the dead. But think about how much of a big surprise that could have been

and Jericho's return was the same thing. They basically ran an ad saying "Watch next week for the return of Chris Jericho". Pretty lame really. Think how much more exciting it would have been if that clothesline had come without the prior knowledge Jericho was returning that night. And I don't think so many would be so critical of Jericho himself because the shock factor would have a greater effect.

I guess the idea of drama, suspense and storytelling is just not a priority anymore.

And just because I've seen so many comment on it, I recently read an interview with Jericho where he said he had been practicing at Lance Storm's academy to work out his ring rust, so I don't really think it will be too much of a problem. I don't really think a guy like him would come back if he didn't think he could do it.

I think people are expecting way too much these days. Instead of enjoying what happens, everything needs to be disected down the core. I can't believe how people are bitching about everything, down to the very clothes Jericho wore! What next? His music was the same old song? Video looked plain? His shoe laces weren't tied properly?

Ok, so Jericho's return on Monday night wasn't like it was back in 1999. Hell, wrestling isn't like it was back in 1999 either. But times change, the landscape of the business has changed a great deal over the years. As far as Jericho's return is concerned, yeah it might have been absolutely perfect, but it was entertaining.

Now the deal is done and he is back. Get over it and deal with it if it is such an issue.

I don't mean that entirely in a bad way, just what else can you expect? I'm pretty sure the WWE knows full well by now that they cannot please every fan they have.

I don't know, but maybe I am just too easily entertained. Or maybe I just don't take wrestling as seriously as others. Whatever the case might be, it is (in my own personal opinion) still damn good to see Chris Jericho back again.

I thought the vest was hot. I don't understand why people would complain about it. Jericho has always worn shiny clothing and tight pants. The vest was different from his old shirt thing but it suited an older yet still out there Jericho. As far as I can tell out there has always been
Y2J's style, you're not going to miss him in a crowd. The point is I thought he was awesome on the mic and looked great, even the shimmering, sparkly vest. Real men wear sparkles.
